Considering the wide scope of countries participating in EUDC, it is important to facilitate the entry process into Spain. Visa issuance is an essential part of this process. Generally, a visa is required to enter the Kingdom of Spain. However, Spain is part of the Schengen Area, a territory where the free movement of persons is guaranteed. ** Only holders of passports which contain identity card number.
For other nationalities, Visa applications can be submitted to Spanish embassies or consulates in the participants’ home countries, or a neighbouring country in case there is no Spanish diplomatic mission in the home country.
Generally, to obtain the visa it is necessary to prove sufficient economic means for the trip, proof of the return flights and reservation of accommodation. However, the procedure may vary from one nation to another, so complete information can be obtained from the corresponding Spanish Embassy, which can be found on the website of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The deadline for processing short-term (Schengen) visa applications is 15 calendar days after the application has been submitted, which may be extended to up to 30 calendar days in specific cases.
